About Dr. Chris Miller

Dr. Chris MillerChristopher Miller, Ph.D., is the Director of BIG and has worked throughout Southern California as a clinical psychologist with children, teens, and families for over ten years. He received his B.A. in psychology from Claremont McKenna College and his Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego. Dr. Miller has extensive experience working with boys from diverse backgrounds who face a variety of challenges. His expertise is also formed by personal experience, being the proud father of a 5-year-old son and having grown up the middle of three boys.


About Dr. Leslie Miller

Dr. Leslie Scher Miller is a licensed psychologist and certified cognitive therapist with over 11 years of experience treating children and their families. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego in 1998.

After graduation, Dr. Miller completed a two-year fellowship at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and remained at CHLA as a faculty member for three additional years. In Los Angeles, she also maintained a private practice with adults, adolescents, and children, specializing in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).

Dr. Miller has been practicing in San Diego since 2004 and has recently joined BIG to provide specialized cognitive-behavioral services. Dr. Miller's expertise is found in treating children and adults experiencing a range of difficulties related to anxiety (including panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder) as well as body focused repetitive behaviors (e.g., trichotillomania and skin picking). Dr. Miller also has extensive experience in working with children with feeding disorders and weight management issues in children and adults.
